As an Amici Host, you’ll be carefully matched with a trusted house guest. Your guest has experienced homelessness in the past and they’re now employed by us. They are committed to turning their life around.
You get the reassurance of knowing we spend six weeks vetting and getting to know your guest before we make an intro.
Once matched, you get strengths-based training to help you support you in your role as a host. You also get friendly ongoing support from our team.
You get a consistent rental income for six months.
And by month six, your guest is ready to get the keys to their own place!

FREE TRAINING
Gain valuable mentoring skills
You get three hours of expert one-on-one training before your guest moves in. You’ll learn simple coaching techniques to help you play to people’s strengths.
Your training helps you to bring out the best in people. You’ll learn useful conversation skills to help your guest build confidence and self-esteem.
You’ll also learn how to help other people create and achieve goals.
SIX MONTHS RENT
Earn an extra income — and change a life at the same time
Your rental agreement is for six months.
Your earnings are guaranteed while your guest is in your home.
You’re entitled to earn up to £7,500 per year tax free through the Government’s ‘Rent a room’ scheme.
CONTRACT AGREEMENT
For your total peace of mind
You and your guest sign a contract to agree on the rules of your home. And keeps everyone safe, happy and on the same page.
Your rent is paid directly to you for the first three months. And your guest pays your rent directly for the final three months.
So you have total peace of mind knowing your rent will always be paid on time. While your guest gets gets time to regain confidence in their personal budgeting skills.

Who can blame you? The tabloids sensationalise homelessness. It's one of society's most complex and misunderstood challenges.
People get trapped in a cycle of dependency on services. And some people never even get a chance.
We exist to help you change all that.
You can be part of the solution that started when Christy, our CEO, volunteered in Birmingham night shelters. He saw people coming in off the streets who were ready and willing to work. But they weren't getting the chance.
So he began matching people from the shelter with local jobs. And it worked. Four years later, we've got hosts and employers helping to end homelessness in London and Manchester too!
After four years - it's clear. The combination of a safe home - and a stable job - allows people to get back on their feet. And stay there.
For guests, change is lasting - because they turn their lives around with hard work and determination.
It's human. It's sustainable. And it works.

Yes! Once we’ve created a match. The next steps are for us all to get together for a cuppa and to confirm it’s a good fit.

You’ll receive strengths-based training upfront to support you in your role. And you’ll catch up with us regularly to fill us in on your guest’s progress. We’re always on hand to support and answer any questions you have along the way.

You’ll learn about our Theory of Change model so you can help your guests set achievable goals. These small goals are the stepping stones towards building resilience and returning to independent living.

No! You’re not your guest’s baby sitter. Your role as an Amici Host is to play the role of a friend - you stand beside them as they do they work.

No. Again, your guest is working towards independence. But some of our Amici Hosts do enjoy sitting down with their guest for dinner once a week.

We work with each guest directly for six weeks, before even considering them for a match. Before this, they’ve already worked with one of our partners for six months. Over four years, we’ve developed an assessment and selection model allowing us to identify when a person is ready for this opportunity.

Right now, 80% of our candidates are still off the streets and thriving in the same job one year later.

Both you and your guest will sign a live document upfront, to set ground rules. This helps to everyone’s safety and make sure everyone is on the same page. If things don’t work out, we simply terminate the contract and we’ll work towards a more suitable match.
